DESIGN AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NANOSPRAY WITH SELF-NANOEMULSIFYING DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM USING SINERGISTIC COMBINATION OF MELASTOMA MALABATHRICUM L. FRACTION AND GENTAMICIN

Objective: This study aimed to design a formula using Design-Expert software obtain optimal Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) formulas and analyze nanospray characteristics of SNEDDS.
 Methods: The began with preparing ethanol extract from Melastoma malabathricum. was then fractionated ethyl acetate. formulation stage solubility test malabathricum fraction gentamicin (MFG) in various surfactants, co-surfactants oils. Furthermore, the 14 SNEDDS compositions selected oils were formulated evaluated pH response emulsification time. Analysis carried out simplex lattice method order profile. pH, time, particle size, zeta potential physically characterized. Stability tested freeze-thaw cycling vitro diffusion studies Franz diffusion.
 Results: Based on study, ratios composition Tween 80, propylene glycol, soybean oil 2.69: 2.64: 1.67 parts. Nanospray technology had 5.61±0.16, time 7.68±0.18, size 270.7 nm, potential-37.20 mV, it stable.
 Conclusion: can be software. has physical is stable. In revealed that release faster than without preparation.
